Eco-eye

Commerce Way Lancing West Sussex BN15 8TA
Eco-eye Elite and the more compact Eco-eye Mini give the householder clear information on their current total electricity usage as well as keeping a record of this data. Both can be fitted in minutes and each have a sensor which simply clips onto the electricity meter. This emits wireless signals to a receiver in the home which displays information on how much electricity is used in either Kilowatts or cost. Historical data is stored on the Eco-eye memory so consumers can see at a glance if their consumption is reducing over a period of time.

As Trevor Pumphrey explains “More often than not electricity meters are hidden away. Not only does Eco-eye make information more visible, it also makes it more meaningful by showing real-time usage in cost. For example, if you switch a kettle on you will be able to see just how much this is costing you. Most people are really shocked when they see how much energy and money they are wasting. Eco-eye really does educate people into changing their bad habits.”

Since Eco-eye was launched in February 2008 , the company has received huge interest from all over the world and has just negotiated sole distribution rights in several countries. Increasingly, in the UK the company is also selling Eco-eye products to schools, small businesses and even caravanners who are concerned about their electricity use.

With global warming being at the top of its agenda, last November the government published the Climate Change Bill which has set legally binding targets for Britain to reduce CO2more seriously and are taking their own steps to reduce their carbon footprint. Undoubtedly, the first way they can do this is to reduce energy wastage in the home. Academic research carried out on electricity monitors confirms they do indeed increase awareness with savings of up to 15% being achieved. emissions by 20% by 2010 and at least 60% by 2050 against the 1990 level. This being the case and with Smart Metering still some years away, more and more people are taking the issue of global warming
The company is shortly releasing its next product in the Eco-eye range - ‘Wi-Eye’ an add-on unit which downloads data onto a PC so graphical information can be produced.
